History of Chail, Himachal Pradesh
Chail was unexplored countryside till year 1893. Bhupinder Singh, the Maharaja / King of Kings of Patiala, gave it a new look. He turned it, his summer capital. He was astonished by the calmness and scenic beauty of the place. Maharaja made changes to the place, to make it look very similar to Shimla. He planted orchards, as we have in Shimla. In fact, he wanted to make it even better than Shimla. Maharaja was not allowed to enter Shimla, because he eloped with daughter of Lord Kitchener; who was commander in chief of the British Indian Army.
Places to visit in Chail, Himachal Pradesh
International cricket ground at Chail, is the highest ground in the world. It dates back to 1893, when it was built. It is at an altitude of 2145 meters, above mean sea level. This is the ground which is also used to play polo.
Chail Wildlife Santuary, is yet another place. Wildlife Santuary, in the year 1976 was declared to be made at Chail. Sambar, Himalayan black bear, Goral, Red deer, Barking deer, Leopard, Indian hare and langoors; are present at Chail Wildlife Sanctuary. The grasslands, make up a beautiful view also.

Maharaja palace is also known as Rajgarh Hill Palace. This is the epic Palace, which was built by Maharaja, for his summer's stay.
