Kaza is the place in Himachal Pradesh, A town, which forms the largest portion of lahaul and Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh. It is surrounded by heavy snow covered peaks, very fine rivers and little patches of Green Fields. Kaza is famous for its varied festivals and the Sakya Tangyud Monastery.

Kaza is divided into 2 sub parts. Kajal Soma is the new town, whereas the older one is called as Kaza khas.  The former is containing all the government offices whereas the later one, contains the king's Palace, monasteries and all historical buildings, of the past. Kaza is situated in a mountainous Terrain place. This is the only reason, that various visitors are attracted towards this place. Various visitors get into adventurous activities. It acts as a base camp for tracking, performing Mountaineering tasks and adventures. There are various trails which start from Kaza, namely Pin Parvati, Parang-la and Pin Bhaba. The people are nice here, at kaza.

Monasteries depict, the ancient old culture of Kaza. Tabo monastery, is one of the oldest Buddhism monasteries, here at Kaza. This place of Kaza, is the best place to watch Lama dance. This will certainly provide you insight, about Tibetan Buddhism.

How to reach kazaa, Himachal Pradesh 


It can be easily accessed from Lahore valley and Kinnaur Valley. Through the Kinnaur Valley you can travel to this place, at any time of the year; whereas from lahaul Valley, it remains open only in summers. This is due to the reason because, kunzum pass remains closed during winters. Winters in Kaza, is as hard time, as the temperature goes beyond zero degrees Celsius. It is a real hard time for the localites, to live in winters but, they are used to it. They have to stock supplies for the complete winter, and they use this very precious time of the year to make hand crafts. These handcrafts later sold by them, to make their living. The best time to visit kaza is surely, in the month of May to September; rest of the months are really hard to live here at kaza.
