Government of Himachal Pradesh releases economic census report 2016
The government of Himachal Pradesh has released, sixth economic census report. It was released on 27th March, 2016. The economic advisor of Himachal Pradesh Government, Mr Pradeep Chauhan; released the, sixth economic Census of Himachal Pradesh. It is stated in the census report that, in spite of harsh geographical conditions, the state of Himachal Pradesh came to be the first state in India, to complete its process of economic census.

Important points of the census
- In 2005, this report was held last time. 60% more growth rate has been seen.
- The increase of Himachal State employees itself, in business activities like tourism retailing construction and transport activities.
- The female ratio has increased, in terms of employment; about thrice times, the last census.
- The articles like handicraft and Handloom articles, were also included in this report. There is an increase, in such units; reported in this report.
- This census was conducted in all of the 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh, with the help of nearly 12 and half thousand trained employees, who conducted this economic census operation.
